I’m Almost Back…!

Yay! So, I have just finished my last lecture until January! *cheers*

This has been such a busy term, but things seem to be going okay. I have two deadlines to do for Friday now then I’m finished. I’m finding it quite hard to get the motivation to finish them though. All of the excitement for Christmas seems to be getting in the way, and tiredness has suddenly hit me the last couple of days! I am hoping to try and get them finished today (wishful thinking, I’m sure!) so then I can forget about it and have a nice much needed break from work!

Basically, this is just a brief note to say that hopefully this means that I can finally start blogging properly again as I will have more free time to myself now for a while!

Who else is excited for the holidays to start?! I sure am! Although I really can’t believe how fast this year has gone.. it literally seems to have flown by. Crazy!

They say “time flies when you’re having fun” – I must have been having fun without realising!

Hard Work Will Always Pay Off

Hey Guys, it’s been a while!

I’ve been working so hard on uni work lately that I haven’t really had much time to myself to blog. Today has been my first day off working in a while, not that I actually wanted it to be like that. Yesterday I told myself I would wake up today and do work all day. But this morning I woke up and just couldn’t seem to get motivated.

The other day I had a presentation which surprisingly went really well. Usually I get pretty ill when it comes to presentations because I have anxiety anyway, so presentations just take it to a whole new level. I think this is literally the calmest I have ever felt in a presentation too.. although it was a group presentations so I guess that helped a bit too. I also had to write 1500 words for my dissertation literature review by tomorrow. I was really dreading doing it because I thought it would be really difficult, but I’m actually really pleased with myself. I went through lots of books and hand-wrote quotes that I felt would be helpful to include, whilst also writing the referencing down after. Once I had gathered some relevant sources I started writing them up into paragraphs for my lit review and it all seemed to fall into place.

I’m doing well keeping on top of work this year. Usually I get very stressed when it comes to deadlines – as does everyone I’m sure – so to avoid that this year I’m setting myself lots of mini deadlines and preparing things in advance to avoid huge amounts of stress. At least it seems to be working at the moment anyway!

Hopefully I will start to write a bit more frequently soon, but until then.. take care.

Daily prompt: Release Me: An Expereience Worth Sharing

The blog post I was most nervous about publishing was the one about my 18th birthday.

I hadn’t shared my traumatic experience with anyone else before because even talking  about it made me feel sick and full of regret for going out that night. Even now I find it difficult to talk out loud about it sometimes. I get horrible flashbacks of different parts of the night and following day that seem to keep trying to haunt me. Continue reading

Minnie Mouse Inspired Nails

I haven’t posted a photo to you for a while of some of my nail designs, so I thought I would share one with you before I hit the pillow to sleep.

I fancied doing a Disney inspired design, therefore decided I would try out a Minnie Mouse one. I’m really pleased with the outcome. I will definitely be doing these ones again soon – perhaps with a pink colour too instead of the red 🙂

Hope you like it. Please let me know what you think 🙂

Busy, Busy Bee

Ohhh dear.

I apologised last week for not blogging for ages because I have been so busy… but I’ve gone and done it again! :/ SORRY!

This last week (again) has been so hectic. I have now handed in my dissertation proposal which took a lot of time and planning to do. I am now waiting to hear back from my university to approve my proposal and give me a personal mentor. Continue reading

A diary to success…

First term of uni has finally started and I am determined to be really committed this year. It’s not like I haven’t been the last two years, because I have. But after a week or so in you’re already falling back on all of the readings that you need to complete etc so it’s quite hard to get in the swing of things again.

So this year, I decided to be really prepared and get an academic diary. Is it just me or does it feel great to write in a nice fresh notebook or diary? It’s such a good feeling, but that sounds strange.. Continue reading

What if the sky was green and the grass was blue….

Wouldn’t it be weird if we lived in a world in which colours of particular things swapped around?

For example, a world in which the sky is green and the grass is blue. If we imagine that now, it would seem really strange and bizarre.. almost like a weird fantasy kind of world where people walked backwards and boys were girls and girls were boys. Something odd like that anyway.

But really, if that was reality then we wouldn’t actually know any different. We would be born into a world in which the sky was green and the grass was blue, so it would seem the norm and not strange at all. If that was actually how it was, then we would find it really weird to think of having a blue sky and green grass.

Isn’t it strange where your imagination takes you sometimes?
